Just Act Normal is the fifth episode of Series 2 and was broadcast on 13 December 2010.

Summary[]

An incident in a park with an ice cream van, a handsome jogger, a teacher, and a class of six-year-old children is enough to drive Miranda and Penny into therapy.

When Miranda and Penny end up in the police station, Penny leads the police to believe that Miranda is a bit unstable and they are both forced to see a therapist for an assessment. All they need to do is sit quietly and control themselves - but this is Miranda and her mother, after all. Will the unnervingly silent therapist believe the constantly scrapping pair are just as sane as any other bickering mother and daughter?

Quotes[]

Miranda: Good word, browse.    Browse. Yeah, she's a lovely word. See her as a female word. Thrust...Male word. The queen of all words, of course, moist. The king of all words, plinth. Imagine a moist plinth.

---

Dr. Hopkins: Well, actually it says...Mother and daughter. Mother's protective instinct has become dominating, fueled by fear of how she is perceived by outer world. Daughter seeks mother's guidance and approval as she has yet to find her own voice.
Penny/Miranda: Absolute rubbish!
