Miranda Hart, born Miranda Katharine Hart Dyke, on 14 December 1972, is the British comedienne known for her creation of the sitcom Miranda, in which she also stars.
Early Life[]
Born in Petersfield, Hampshire, she attended an independent girls' boarding school in Downe House, Berkshire, sports presenter Claire Balding being her head girl. She graduated with a 2:1 in political science from the University of the West of England, which she followed by training at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts as she had always wanted to become a comedienne. In 2004, she pitched a comedy show to the BBC, which saw Jennifer Saunders laughing all the way through.

Miss Hart has appeared in many television programmes, films, and stand-up. Here are a list of some of her appearances:
- She appeared in the BBC comedy series Hyperdrive from 2006-2007 as Teal.
- She appeared in the third Comic Relief does Fame Academy in 2007.
- She made appearances in French and Saunders, My Family and Other Animals, Nighty Night, Absolutely Fabulous, Lead Balloon, The Vicar of Dibley and more.
- She performed in the last ever sketch for French and Saunders.
- She played an acupuncturist in Not Going Out in 2006, before being given a role as clumsy cleaner, Barbara, in the following series and until 2009.
- The pilot for Miranda was recorded for BBC Two in 2008, which was based upon her radio series Miranda Hart's Joke Shop on BBC Radio 2.
- She has hosted Have I Got News for You.
- Miranda has run for three series and a finale special.
- In 2012, Miranda has appeared in Call the Midwife and another series is being discussed.
