The Shop Assistant is a a minor character who appears in the series 1 episode, Date.

He works at the shop, Transformers which caters to cross dressers. Miranda is unaware of the type of shop it is, noting only that they seem to have sizes in her range, "Big sizes for once, perfect!"

For his part, he assumes Miranda is a man, "Right, let's have a look at you, shall we? Well, you're naturally very feminine. You're lucky, shapely, ladylike curves... It's not going to take much; heads will turn, and not in a pointing and staring way...there's no point in wearing jeans and T-shirt, is there? You might as well be a man!"

He then outfits her in a purple sequined drag queen glitter gown, and stage makeup. When Stevie asks her why she's dressed as a transvestite, Miranda is shattered, "I wear normal everyday clothes and get called 'sir.' I actually make an effort, I am a transvestite."
